I keep seeing searches that want a person with a tape measure, or a machine brand, or the pencil marks on a paper pattern. I am writing this so those searches leave quickly, with the dictionary meaning attached and no fake shop listing.
A dressmaker, in ordinary English, is a person who makes custom clothes, especially dresses. That is a job. It is also the title of a 2026 simulation about doing that job in a shop. This website only covers the simulation.
- Sewing machines sold as a dressmaker model are a shopping search. There is no store here.
- Dressmaker near me is a local-services search. There is no directory here.
- Marks on a paper sewing pattern, such as notches and grain lines, are a craft question. I did not research a textbook for them, so I am not defining them.
